Breaking development is organizing a variety of mobile conferences and webinars and as I was going through their September 2011 mobile webcasts, some of the videos got my attention. videos on mobile design, and each of them have key ideas that affect learning with mobile devices. The immigrant population is making use of their mobile devices in specific ways than the general population: playing games, recording videos and photo's, using mobile banking, posting to social media. But I do change the order, starting with the concluding remarks, for I think these are very relevant and as such, reading them first is a good thing.

As soon as the videos are recorded they are transferred to our servers and (pending approval) are viewable by all staff and students. So we've created a system that records chefs, this in itself is nothing new, we've had the ability to use video cameras in class for years; where's the benefit to the learners and most of all the teachers? The chef has to grab another chicken.

Students tend to be out and about for a reason and the free time they have occurs in short bursts such as sitting on a bus, waiting for a friend or queuing in bank. For example tests, individual activities, revision materials, video summaries and communication links to tutors and peers. first step, as always has been the picking of low lying fruit. The prime use of VLEs initially was as (still is?) a repository of course documents and administrative information and such a trend is now being replicated in the mobile space. The use of podcasts is becoming widespread. less mobile.
