Students and/or classes can subscribe to mobile updates about different candidates, current polls, and other political news. For example on Barack Obama's site you can "join the movement" and Go Mobile! The mobile options seemed to be targeted at younger voters, high schoolers and college age students.

New Study Shows How Mobile Reminders Can Help HIV+ Patients

A new study out of Howard Brown Health Center shows that daily text message reminders helps HIV+ patients adhere to their medications. The 24-week study took a group of HIV+ patients, aged 14-29, with documented poor adherence to their antiretroviral therapy (ART). The study found that the text message reminders “significantly improved” the patients’ adherence to their medication. The study also gave credit to the tailored, targeted content of this messaging campaign.

Today’s cell phones allow people do everything on the go: check their bank account, send emails, take photos, look up their favorite restaurants. But a recent Pew Report shows that when it comes to a phone’s various functions, users in almost every age category overwhelmingly prefer to use their phones for text messaging. 80% of cell phone owners use the text message function on their phone, compared to 56% who use it to access the internet and 50% who use it to check their email.
