The Human Rights Campaign, an advocacy group which has worked for over three decades to advance LGBT civil rights, celebrated the first presidential debate of the 2012 election season with a text message trivia game. I really like what Ted-Ed is doing by “flipping” videos for educational purposes, however I can’t help but think how much better the learning experience would be if the quiz was embedded in the video itself within context, instead of having to watch the video first before taking the quiz, which is how things work today. Also, for these examples, I chose not to enable Quiz tracking, but Camtasia 8 does provide email and SCORM support for tracking.

As they progress through the quiz, I can see (in realtime) on Socrative where they are at in their group work as well as their "thinking" around different topics. On of my favorite free resources for mobile polling, surveys and brainstorming is Socrative. Socrative can work on any mobile device with Internet access. Socrative just got better!

The same group (Locamoda) that developed one of my favorite resources Wiffiti , has also developed Jumbli. Jumbli is a billboard (it really is in Times Square) with letters on it. Jumbli asks viewers (anyone can play it is free) to participate in a game of super-scrabble.
