Kit Eaton at Fast Company has a lengthy article on how Twitter and Apple are integrating through the upcoming Apple iOS5 operating system. According to sources at Twitter, it will be much easier to Tweet from an Apple device than to use Facebook from the same device. The ability to save a couple of clicks is a competitive advantage in this new world.

No updated iPod touch, and seemingly no price drop either to compensate. Just reading thru some of the details about the announcements overnight – now 500,000 apps – oops, I mean 500,000 potential learning resources. I’ve been thinking what’s in it for educators – not much this time. This post is a follow on from iPod mLearn oCool ! iPods and mp3 players are a great place to start - especially if school policy doesn’t allow mobile phones in classrooms. I don’t have the option of using mobile phones in the classroom (as much as I would like to) simply because we don’t get phone reception at our little school in our little country town! Create simple question and answer.txt files that will display on an iPod. Just create a file of whatever you need and put it in the Notes folder in the iPod.

School officials in the district of 3,700 students are launching iLearn, a new program aimed at incorporating iPods with daily educational instruction. Students will then download the lessons onto an iPod Touch, where it can be completed at home or on the go. "We plan to start out with 60 iPods and introduce the program to our math and science classes at the high school. The goal is to provide every single student in Kilgore ISD with an iPod." he said. Hallsville High School students participate in a similar program using iPod Nanos and iPod Touches.

While I wait for a decent Android tablet to ship (be it iPod touch or iPad sized), I’ll instead post here about the just released info on the iPhone 4 and its OS (iOS4). Well because in my state alone there are many many schools using the iPod touch to enhance learning. The update will at least be free for iPod touches now!
