But one thing seems to be clear and that’s the fact that mobile browsers are getting much better and most newer mobile browsers are implementing the WebKit Open Source framework similar to what Apple did when they created Safari for the iPhone. Director of Technology Mark Lane said Thursday that teachers will upload curriculum, lectures, study plans and homework assignments to computers at the high school. Lane is hoping Kilgore schools will experience the same success.

Oh, and if you want to get Flash on the iPhone, I know Adobe and Apple are “working together … I hope that means that it will happen. Those of you who know me know that I’ve been excited about Flash for mobile devices for a long time. Ever since the first announcements of Flash Lite in 2005/2006, I’ve been studying and working on ways to port the most ubiquitous rich web technology to the mobile space. My expiriments with Mode2Tech lead to my first mobile application, called Burst , which is currently in version 2 and I think it has some valuable applications.

If you have an iPod Touch or iPhone you can download this app free from the Apple App Store. One of the most clever integrations of social learning into mobile learning I have seen comes from Transparent Language's Byki Global for iPhone. As with many other flashcard type language learning tools, there are screens with the word(s) plus audio, quizzes and stats, but they added a Twitter link.

Recently Newsweek featured their solution in an article Apple's New Weapon. I had seen demos as well, but had not done a thorough review. For the past couple years I have been aware of Vcom3D and the mobile learning work they have done for the military. In talking with Vcom3D a couple weeks ago, the CEO offered to send me a loaner iPod Touch unit with their learning modules to review.
