Platforms, apps and tools exist on all mobile devices to support collaboration. I’ve been quiet on the blog for a while. This blog post is a turning point for me.

Why 1:1 May Not Be Necessary

The Mobile Learner

As a support tool, mobile devices seem to be a natural fit when the teacher uses a learning centre format to engage students in inquiry. However, when utilizing a smaller number, in our case 4 iPad minis, in a learning centre where students are rotating between centres, students tended to be more focused and teachers, who now naturally fall into the role of facilitator, are able to observe student activities more directly and provide that timely descriptive feedback that everyone is talking about these days. edushifts mlearning mobilelearning 1:1

Using social networking tools such as Twitter or Facebook allows students to share their thoughts on a topic and comment on others’ thought during a lesson without actually interrupting a lesson.
