New Study Shows How Mobile Reminders Can Help HIV+ Patients

A new study out of Howard Brown Health Center shows that daily text message reminders helps HIV+ patients adhere to their medications. Every day, the patients received a personalized SMS reminder to take their medications. Participants could text back 1 if they took their medication and 2 if they did not. The study found that the text message reminders “significantly improved” the patients’ adherence to their medication. By not taking their medications, they are putting their health and even their lives at risk. That can be a life-saving improvement.
