Oh, and not all browsers are ready for HTML5 and if you are still using IE 6, 7, & 8, it’s not good news, I am afraid! HTML5 works best with IE10 and browsers like Maxthon, Chrome, Firefox and Safari. This means you have to build different apps for different phones e.g. the iPhone, Blackberry, Samsung SIII etc. and later. Surprised? So what’s the fuss about HTML5?

The second was the phenomenal incursion of mobile phones, it seems everyone carried one and many individuals were absorbed in its use through their commute. Things change somewhat with smart-phones contrasted with the feature phones and media players being used by commuters earlier. Once or twice a week I commute to the office using public transport.

But this is a bit of work, a simplified version was offered by Adam Clark Estes from Gizmodo in an overview article , focusing on a simple addition of coded lines to a browser extension (either chrome/firefox), which only takes 6 steps to get the twitter heart replaced by an emoji (= character or symbol) of your choice. When twitter first changed the star into heart, I could not be bothered. Although I must admit I did follow some of the discussions (one from Kate Bowles here ). oh Yes. tough part: finding a symbol you want to use.

Phones today cost far less than they ever did, do far more and are cheaper to use because network usage charges are dropping consistently. As I mentioned earlier (point 3) phones are now broadly accessible and affordable to the masses. I’ve been occupied with writing a paper to promote the adoption of mobile learning amongst corporates and enterprises. While trawling through multiple web-links, a pattern of myths about mobile learning emerges. Today’s devices have large usable screens, and full QWERTY keyboards. Mobile content is expensive! How do you respond?
